CPD Officer Wolsiffer conducted animal control training tonight for our officers. It is very important for our officers to receive this training so our officers can remain safe when dealing with stray animals. “The way in which our officers carry out their duties affects not only the quality of life for animals, but also the citizens’ perception in our community”, stated Chief Cole. Chesterfield Police Officers conduct regular department training to ensure our officers are trained to respond to calls as needed in our community.
We remind our community, the Town of Chesterfield does have an ordinance that requires pet owners to keep their pet restrained at all times. As a last resort, our officers can cite pet owners with local ordinance violation and assess fines when necessary.
